User Management
Add users and manage compute, Docker, NIM, and model permissions in AI Controller
Welcome to the documentation for managing users on the Qubrid AI Controller. In this guide, we will explore the process of adding a user and managing permissions regarding compute, models, and NIM.
Adding a New User
Administrators can add new users directly from the Dashboard or the Manage User section. Below is the step-by-step guide to add a user, assign them resources, and configure permissions.
Adding a new user from the Dashboard or Manage User section
To add a new user:
Open user creation
Go to the Dashboard or Manage User section.
Click Add User
Click on the Add User button to start the process.
Filling in user details
When adding a user, the following fields must be filled in:
- Name of the User: Enter the full name of the user
- Password: The password must meet the following criteria:
- At least 8 characters long
- Must include both uppercase and lowercase letters
- Must contain at least one digit (0-9)
- Expiry Day: Set the expiry date for the user. After this date, the user will automatically be suspended and will no longer be able to log in
- Select Node: Choose the node that the admin wants to assign to the user based on available resources. Nodes are selected according to the system's resource allocation (for example, memory, storage, etc.)
- Select GPU and CPU Cores: Specify the GPU and CPU cores the user will have access to. These resources are allocated based on user requirements and available system resources
Creating the user
Once all the necessary fields are filled out, click the Add button.
The user will be successfully created, and they will be listed in the Manage User section.
To verify that the user has been created correctly, navigate to the Manage User section and confirm the user details are listed.
Only the admin can add users.
Managing User Permissions
Once a user is created, administrators can manage their permissions, including Docker, NIM, and model access. Permissions can be modified by clicking the Action button next to each user's name.
Docker Permissions
Administrators can manage Docker permissions for each user from the Action button.
Permissions include granting or restricting access to specific Docker images that have been assigned to the user.
NIM Permissions
Similarly, NIM permissions can be configured using the Action button. This includes access to NIM resources and configuration options for the user.
Model Permissions
The Action button also allows the admin to assign or revoke model access for the user. Only the models assigned by the admin will appear in the user's console.
All user permissions (Docker, NIM, and Model) are fully customizable and can be updated at any time through the Manage User section.
Confirming user access and permissions
After creating a user and assigning permissions, admins can verify everything by going to the Manage User section. Here, they can review the user's assigned resources, permissions, and modify them as needed.
